Amanda Bynes: Where do we start? The troubled actress was a no-show in court today, where she was scheduled for a pre-trial hearing in Burbank, California on two misdemeanor counts of driving without a license. The former Nickelodeon kid star had her license suspended last year after she got busted for a DUI in Los Angeles and was involved in a mind-blowing string of minor car accidents.
Amanda Bynes took off for New York in September 2012, leaving behind her home in Calabasas, California. The actress had purchased the home the previous November for $1,879,000, and reportedly still owns it. Situated in an upscale gated community, the Mediterranean-style mini-mansion has four bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, and impressive customized interiors. The home features high beamed ceilings, French doors, a wood-burning fireplace, and beautiful Travertine tile floors.
The grounds surrounding Amanda Bynes' home include a lovely gated courtyard at the front of the house, complete with a fountain, and flagstone terraces in the back. One stone terrace adjacent to the living room features a barbecue station and cabana overlooking the swimming pool.
It's quite a lovely little mansion Amanda Bynes has in her name, although we get a little nervous imagining what it might have looked like by the time she left. Remember those photos of her car? The interior was filthy, littered with trash, with what looked very much like scorched marijuana remnants sprinkled liberally in the cup holder. And though we'd like to think she treated her lovely home a little better, we can't forget what supposedly happened to her Manhattan apartment early this .
Amanda Bynes moved out of her Manhattan apartment on February 1 after her landlord reportedly threatened to evict her. According to TMZ, Bynes' neighbors were complaining that the Easy A star was smoking marijuana and cigarettes "morning, noon and night" in her apartment and even in the hallways of the non-smoking building. One insider claimed that Bynes left the apartment "littered with Marlboro Light cigarette butts and dirty Q-Tips."
Amanda Bynes has been living in a Manhattan hotel since the near-eviction, and her parents have reportedly checked into a room adjacent to hers to keep an eye on their troubled daughter. It's a shame she can't settle in somewhere more stable while she figures things out.
Amanda Bynes' missed court date adds yet another turn to her recent downward spiral, and we have to wonder how she's managed to hang onto that Calabasas home. Let's hope the What I Like About You actress gets it together soon.
